Dr. Axel Mazolo is the founder and Executive Director of the Geneva AI Governance Institute (GAIGI), an independent think tank dedicated to shaping responsible, inclusive, and interoperable AI governance frameworks at the international level.
Operating at the intersection of artificial intelligence, international trade law, and multilateral diplomacy, GAIGI produces independent analysis and convenes stakeholders from government, international organizations, industry, and civil society.
Areas of Expertise
Dr. Mazolo’s work focuses on the regulatory and institutional architecture of AI governance, the relationship between AI diffusion and international trade regimes, and the design of multilateral coordination mechanisms for emerging technologies. He advises governments, international organizations, and regulatory bodies on forward-looking AI policy and institutional strategy.
